Our culture is constructed in a way that only allows for some to prioritize their own wellness—so often, taking care of oneself seems like a privilege only afforded to some. While these are dark times in a cultural context that is eliciting fear, it is time for us to connect to courage, our resilience, and to remind ourselves of the power of collective action.
As an author, healer, activist and agent for change, Michelle C. Johnson has spent time considering how to create inclusive spaces and center contemplative practice in order to strengthen our resilience and build a cultural context that affirms those most marginalized by oppression.
This workshop is for educators, social workers, psychotherapists, yoga teachers and practitioners and for anyone engaged in work to create conditions for liberation. If you have an interest in creating inclusive healing spaces join Michelle as she shares from her book: Skill in Action, Radicalizing Your Yoga Practice to Create a Just World. Michelle will explore the intersection of yoga and justice as an entry into understanding how to create inclusive spaces for healing.
The workshop will include contemplative and movement practice, journaling, self-reflection and small group discussions. Show up to learn more about yourself and to identify ways to inspire justice.
